Post Apocalyptic Television - Revolution vs Walking Dead

Posted by C.F. Arnold III on Friday, February 8, 2013, In : Who Would Win in a Fight?
The wait is finally over and everybody’s favorite post apocalyptic series, Walking Dead, returns this Sunday. Another series in somewhat the same vein, Revolution, returns late next month. Who would win in a “more realistic portrayal” fight – Walking Dead vs. Revolution.

The plot device that makes each series tick is drastically different (zombies and electricity, respectively), but the end result is the same - A post apocalyptic planet where individuals are struggling ...

Confession of a Star Wars Apostate

Posted by C.F. Arnold III on Monday, July 23, 2012, In : Who Would Win in a Fight?

A long time ago I can remember being both a Star Wars fan and a Star Trek fan simultaneously. I still am, but while I always liked Trek, historically I was a full on Star Wars freak. I remember balling my eyes out when I accidentally broke the head off of my Darth Vader action figure as a young child. As a teenager I remember sneakily reading Young Jedi novels during classes in high school (yes, I’m that kind of nerd). I even loved Attack of the Clones and watched it multiple ...

X-Men: First Class - Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down??

Posted by COMICS aRE deAd on Friday, June 10, 2011, In : Who Would Win in a Fight?

X-Men: First Class is a great movie, not just a comic book movie, not just an action movie, but a great movie. Let’s face it, X-Men was a dying movie series and, with almost insulting things happening in the latest movies from Cyclops being killed to Deadpool … well, I think you remember. But, if the sort of quality we see in this movie continues we could actually see some really good X-Men movies, and that sounds like a great proposition to me.

Comic Book Legend Tony Isabella Lambasts Comics are Dead for Comments on the Siegel/Shuster Superman Rights Case

Posted by C.F. Arnold III on Monday, March 28, 2011, In : Who Would Win in a Fight?

Yesterday deadline.com posted a quite compelling letter from Jerry Siegel's widow, Joanne Siegel. Jerry Siegel, of course, is the co-creator of the Superman character along with Joe Shuster. The letter is addressed to the current CEO of Time Warner, Jeffrey L. Bewkes, and is an odd amalgam of a request, a threat and a plea wrapped in sweet charm from the ninety-plus year old spitfire.

Fast forward one day. Creator of DC Comics character Black Lightning, Tony Isabella...

Who Would Win in a Fight?: CYCLOPS vs WOLVERINE!!

Posted by C.F. Arnold III & BIG TeTe on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, In : Who Would Win in a Fight?

WHO IS THE GREATEST X-MAN?

C.F. Arnold's Statement:

What makes one the greatest? Is it being first? Cyclops – check. Cyclops was the first X-Man, and til’ this day the greatest X-Man. Does being chosen as leader of the team make you the greatest? Being leader most definitely means you are the greatest tactician and most skilled on missions in team settings…which the X-Men is.

The X-Men is a team book. The X-Men isn’t called “Wolverine.” And as far as every member ...

Green Lantern Kyle Rayner vs. Green Lantern Hal Jordan

Posted by BIG TeTe & C.F. Arnold on Friday, June 11, 2010, In : Who Would Win in a Fight?

BIG TeTe:

So let me ask you, do you enjoy the redundant cliché that encapsulates the stereotypical Boy Scout super hero or would you prefer an edgy artist with an actual emotional arch to deal with?  Kyle Rayner didn't ask to become Green Lantern, he wasn't chosen, but when fate intervened in his life he stepped through the minefield of his inhibitions to become, in my opinion, the greatest Green Lantern in the history of DC Comics.  Now, when I say the greatest I don’t mean tha...
